From a private-label lighter
to hundreds of stores.

Operating from 2016–2020, Jolt Arc Lighters grew into hundreds of retail stores across Canada and the United States. Behind the expansion: prospect research, recorded-call qualification, consignment sales and purchase-history-led replenishment.

01 / Business context

A physical product.
An operating business.

Jolt sold private-label electric lighters positioned as an eco-friendly alternative. Noah operated the company from 2016–2020 and built a business that combined a physical product with a repeatable approach to finding, supplying and following up with retail stores.

The company expanded into hundreds of stores across Canada and the United States. It also collaborated on co-branded products with some of Canada’s biggest tobacco and cannabis brands, and secured consignment arrangements with 7-Eleven Canada and Macs Convenience Canada.

Independent stores presented a different sales challenge from larger accounts. Each prospect had to be researched, its existing product range understood and a suitable next conversation chosen. After a store started carrying the product, restocking needed attention too: a busy retailer would not necessarily reorder as soon as the shelf ran low.

04 / Contribution & scope

The role behind
the work.

Noah combined company ownership and direct selling with practical automation. He set up the recorded-call qualification script, used Pipedrive and Mailshake around the prospecting process, pitched retail arrangements and created a system for estimating reorder timing from store purchase history.

A simple recorded question established whether a store already carried electric lighters, giving the next sales conversation useful context.

The business combined independent-store prospecting with larger retail and co-brand relationships. The systems below explain how Noah approached the recurring work around those relationships: finding relevant stockists, starting a commercial conversation and keeping existing locations supplied.
