Turn store reorder history
into a better-informed
purchasing plan.
Jolt Arc Lighters is Noah’s named lighter business. Please confirm whether this historical reorder-planning recording belongs to Jolt; the folder alone does not establish the connection.
In his own lighter business, Noah used store reorder histories to estimate demand and plan inventory and packaging purchases. The spreadsheet connected past orders to practical purchasing decisions.

01 / Business context
The problem
to solve.
A store’s reorder gives a useful signal about product movement, but a purchase decision also has to account for differences between stores and seasonal demand. Packaging can introduce another constraint when it must be ordered in larger quantities.
Noah used units ordered and the time between store orders to estimate product movement. The spreadsheet helped inform purchasing for his own business.
Inside the workflow
A closer look
at the handoffs.
Start with the main path and its branches. Select a step for context, or switch to the technical map for implementation detail.
- Store reorder spreadsheets
Read quantities and elapsed time between orders from individual retailers. - Store and seasonal context
Consider seasonal demand and different store behavior. - Estimate product movement
Use reorder units and timing as a proxy for product movement. - Interpret likely demand
Combine the estimates with store patterns and seasonal judgment. - Plan product replenishment
Use the demand estimate to inform the next product purchase. - Plan packaging quantities
Consider larger custom-packaging minimums separately from product quantities.
Read the workflow notes
- 01 / Observe
Compare units and timing
Use store reorder quantities and the elapsed time between orders to estimate how quickly stock may be moving.
- 02 / Interpret
Compare stores and seasons
Consider differences between store patterns and changes in demand over time, rather than treating one order as a universal forecast.
- 03 / Plan
Inform stock and packaging purchases
Use those estimates when planning the next product and packaging purchases, with attention to larger packaging-order quantities.
Reorder-based estimates are planning inputs, rather than directly observed consumer sell-through. No forecast-accuracy or inventory-saving measurement is established.
03 / Implementation detail
Operations experience
behind the
spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet helped Noah judge when to buy and how much stock or packaging to order. Purchasing remained a person’s decision.
The recording concerns Noah’s own lighter business; its exact dates and attribution to Jolt are not confirmed. The seasonal multiplier mentioned in the recording has not been verified.
Barcode-based inventory depletion was discussed as a possible capability that had not been implemented in this business. It is not included as a delivered feature.
04 / Outcome & scope
Result
and scope.
This was an own-business planning example: store reorders and seasonal judgment informed stock and packaging decisions. It was not presented as a separate client build or software product.
No automated purchasing, barcode tracking, forecast accuracy, cost reduction or stockout improvement is claimed.
